the Metamorphosis of a Green HOPE Woman

A butterfuly experiences the remarkable transformation called metamorphosis (a process some animals go throu to become adults) only one time.

egg -> caterpillar -> chrysalis -> butterfly.

It’s their entire lifetime.

We humans may go through this procedss multiple times in our lives. Of course, we understand the changes that occur from birth to old age. However, our life events replicate the transformations as well.

You can probably recall a time in your life when one moment you feel like a butterfly - right woman, at the right place, at the right time with the right stuff. You are flying!

And then something happens and you suddenly feel like that little caterpillar all over again. It is hatched on a little leaf, small and insignificant.

It might be that something tragic has happened and turned your life upside down.

Or perhaps you have experienced a significant health crisis. You must learn to live differently to find healing.

Or maybe it’s a good thing- a promotion at work or a new relationship. Even then you are at a place of beginning again. Learning new skills, developing new muscles, letting go of expectations of how life might have been.

For the caterpillar, it is that season in life where she can’t go anywhere else. She doesn’t have the ability to fly….yet. She just has little, tiny, stocky legs to start with.

If she crossed her arms and whined, “I don’t like where I am, so I quit,” then she would never get any bigger, grow, and never develop into a butterfly. She doesn’t have a lot of options, but that doesn’t stop her.

The beauty of this stage in the caterpillar’s life is that this is where she does most of her growth in length and weight. She accepts where she lives and her current place in life. Therefore, she does what she needs to do to grow exponentially right there.

There she is trudging along on a small branch, working her little legs very hard to get from one place to another. At some point she begins to resemble a ‘J’ hanging from a branch as she creates a chrysalis. That is when she begins a remarkable transformation called metamorphosis.

-> egg -> caterpillar -> chrysalis -> butterfly

For you it might be ->get real -> remember God -> envision you -> leave your ripples.

More on that later.

You are, no matter where you are in your journey, in the perfect place for amazing transformation to come about in your life. You may not want to hear that because you aren’t sure you like where you are. But it is true. The little caterpillar teaches us much about that place…

How do we move from caterpillar through the chrysalis to butterfly? Well, we will talk about that in the next post. Keep watching!
